Thanks so much for liking it :D It was an honor to use such a great track from you. It's top notch quality!

I'm glad you enjoyed the editing, too.
I hope to show you the short animation once it's all done :D! Time for more epicness!!!

Hey SoundGalaxy! Great job on this song. Below are some of my thoughts:

Pros: The use of pizzicato strings, low brass, and woodblock really gave the impression of a big elephant stomping around. I liked the orchestration a lot, and I felt like it was representative of the idea you were trying to get across. I also enjoyed the flute/clarinet counter-melody against the low brass as contrast.

Cons: I feel like that the reverb in this piece makes things a little muddy. I'd back off of it if possible so the low brass isn't lost so much under the pizzicato strings - especially since the low brass is an important part of this song. I do feel like the pizzicato strings lag just a tiny bit in some places, but it's only noticeable if you listen really closely (and it could be due to the reverb issue).

Great job! I can't wait to hear more,

Wow! I never thought I will get a nice review like this!
Thank you very much! :)

I'm kind of new to orchestral composing (Actually this one is the first piece that I actually was be able to finish, at least to make a short loop out of it).

I've used EWQLSO Silver and its samples are a little wet, but I will try to play with the sample release time.

So thank you for your advice, I really appreciate it!, I really need every info to develop my orchestral skills too.

(By the way, I took a listen to some of your stuff, and they are just great! I want to write music like that! :) )

Have a nice day!

Pros: You know, I don't listen to a lot of dubstep stuff (I'm more of orchestral composer than a DJ), so I'm going out on a limb here in terms of this review. But I really, really liked this mix. I loved the fade in, use of sound clips, and it went to unexpected (and totally awesome) places. Pokemon Yellow is one of my favorite Pokemon games, and I really enjoyed this.

Cons: One thing that I would probably work on is the ending. You did a great job with transitions into other sections, but the ending felt kind of weak comparatively to the rest of the mix. Endings are hard to write, but I think you can totally do it (as evidenced by your ability to mix transitions).

Keep up the great work!

Thank you!

It's so...ironic! :D

BP should play this as they are cleaning up the massive ocean of oil they caused out in the Gulf! :D Great job! :)

BallinFatty responds:

hahahahah they definatly should. a song entitled "oil ocean" hell, this should be their theme song.

hahah thanks again for the review, 9, and yur time in listening

I liked the first couple of seconds of it...

But it can get kind of repetitive after awhile.

My suggestion would be to add some chord changes every other bar or so, and maybe some kind of soft melody line. I think that will keep the interest going.

The sound effects sound cool, however, I don't think they are fitting to the piece, especially if sound effect doesn't fit thematically with what is happening in the menu.

Good job though! I can't wait to hear more! ^_^

Thanks for the review,

I'll take into account what you've said when making future pieces like this.

Cheers

Though this is awesome...

This is not classical. This sounds more like rock with some big band trumpets and a choir. :D

However, this is still a great piece with good balance, and instrumentation. (And I love Unforgotten Realms! :D)

Great job! ^^

nathanallenpinard responds:

Well, the classical section is more so for orchestral works. There isn't really a TV/Film Score section anyway.

I...

Don't know what is going on harmonically and structurally. I hear parallel 5ths and octaves everywhere, and the horns are making impossible leaps.

My suggestion to you is to rework this composition. Look up the ranges for the french horn, as well as study a little bit of theory as well as other music to help you refine your work. :)

valrog responds:

to be honest, I dont know a single thing about music, I just click randomly around on finale get something that sounds good, and then rework from that.

The mastering...

not only amplified this wonderful song, but also brought new depthness and perception to this piece. Great job, and I can't wait to hear more! ^^

SilentTakedown responds:

Thanks, it was a lot of work, but the song is very good done.

Compositionally...

A substantial piece worthy of most praise. :) However, from a mastering standpoint, you could add a little reverb to make the piano sound less dead (musically, not literally) and allow the piece to sound less computerized. I can also hear where the piece could move a lot more dynamically, so bring out some of those awesome low bass chords and crazy piano riffs! ^_^

I hope my suggestions help, and I can't wait to hear more! ^_^ Great job! ^_^

MJTTOMB responds:

Taking all of that into consideration, I might as well turn it into a piano duet toccata. Whatever the hell that is. XD. But yeah, all good suggestions, all will probably be employed in the remix.
